Everything you need to write about NepTunes. No form, no email required, though I'm happy to answer questions.

Boilerplate

NepTunes is a menu bar music app for macOS. It shows what Apple Music or Spotify is playing and scrobbles it to Last.fm, which Apple Music still has no native support for. Playback sits behind global hotkeys, on-screen HUDs and a Dock icon that shows the current artwork. Desktop widgets are an open format: .nepget bundles of HTML, CSS and JavaScript written against a documented JavaScript API, installed from a gallery inside the app. Copy Link turns whatever is playing into one URL that opens in Apple Music, Spotify or Deezer, whichever the recipient uses. NepTunes was first released in November 2014 and has been on the Mac App Store since June 2015. Version 4 is a complete rewrite and requires macOS 26.
